The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the nation's largest and most dynamic civil engineering association, is currently searching for a self-motivated meeting planner to provide conference management, content planning, and operational support for the successful implementation and production of Institute conferences, student competitions, and other quality educational initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and implementing conference management timelines
  • Working with steering committee to develop conference program and obtain technical information
  • Working to develop sponsorship opportunities, design exhibit floor plans, and coordinate the tracking and fulfilment of sold items
  • Overseeing the implementation and production of marketing plans and pieces
  • Overseeing the RFP process
  • Managing on-site conference staff and vendors
  • Providing logistical and operational support to the assigned conference
  • Conducting post conference reconciliation and follow up
  • Overseeing the work of several technical committees

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in non-profit management, business, hospitality, or similar field, or equivalent work experience
  • CMP or similar professional certification (preferred)
  • Thorough proficiency with MS Office, Teams, membership databases, event mobile applications, virtual event platforms and content management systems
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality
  • Demonstrated success planning events from beginning to end
  • Willingness and desire for frequent travel
