Would you like to guide the strategy that is raising awareness of the need for infrastructure investment and driving solutions at all levels of government? 

The 150,000-member American Society of Civil Engineers seeks an energetic, highly organized public affairs professional with a solid understanding of infrastructure issues, public affairs, and media relations to join our Washington, DC team.

Responsibilities include: 

  • developing and directing program strategy for ASCE's Infrastructure Report Card and related infrastructure initiatives
  • designing infrastructure advocacy programs
  • overseeing media relations staff and activities
  •  representing the Society at coalition meetings and conferences
  •  drafting/researching press statements, advocacy materials, and other appropriate information for policymakers and the media
  •  managing a small team of professionals

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree and seven years' experience in public affairs, media relations, and strategic communications (preferably in an infrastructure-related industry)
  • demonstrated success working with members/volunteers
  • strong writing and speaking skills
  • program and people management experience
