Do you like managing and promoting online communities?  Are you adept at online collaboration with a desire to curate online content and discussions?

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), one of the nation's largest and most dynamic nonprofit organizations is currently searching for an Online Community Manager to promote, grow, manage, and govern our Hire Logic communities and microsites.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing online communities
  • Overseeing all technical and system administration aspects of the community
  • Providing technical support to members and staff
  • Creating and managing the moderation and terms of use policies
  • Promoting civil discourse and meaningful discussions
  • Monitoring discussions and responding in a timely fashion where appropriate (or ensuring relevant responders are "nudged" to respond)
  • Developing and maintaining community training resources, guidelines, and policies
  • Alerting appropriate staff as issues arise and work with staff to resolve issues
  • Maintaining a Responders List of members and/or staff who can be reached quickly to respond to specific questions
  • Networking with community members and identifying Community Champions
  • Working behind the scenes to ensure engagement
  • Monitoring and measuring the success of community engagement

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years' experience managing social media and/or online communities
  • Higher Logic experience (a plus)
  • Excellent spoken, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Technologically savvy and thoroughly proficient with online platforms
