The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the oldest national civil engineering society in America, is currently seeking a motivated and detail oriented individual to provide conference coordination and marketing/communication support for the goals and activities of our Construction Institute (CI).

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing logistical and operational support to the assigned conference(s) including but not limited to: development of meeting, resumes, and specifications; communication of meeting requirements to vendors and facility staff such as AV, Catering, Hotel, Convention Center, Transportation, Security, etc.
  • Oversee Institute communications (web pages and the monthly newsletter)
  • Assist with outreach to membership and other local groups
  • Assembling the preliminary and final programs for the conference in collaboration with Conference Steering Committees
  • Developing and coordinating email marketing campaigns with marketing team and other ASCE departments
  • Coordinating, updating, and tracking RFPs
  • Negotiating contracts with selected vendors.
  • Providing on-site conference support, including vendor management

 Ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent broad knowledge
  • 3-5 years meeting planning experience
  • Demonstrated success supporting the planning and execution of professional conferences
  • A desire and willingness to travel 
  • Association and/or volunteer management experience
  • Superior organization skills and ability to multitask
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and research skills
  • A mastery of MS Office
